Here’s the schedule for the remainder of summer band camp:
Monday, August 16 – Rehearsal from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Picture forms will be distributed at the conclusion of today’s rehearsal. These are to be given to the photographer on Thursday (picture day).
Tuesday, August 17 – Rehearsal from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Wednesday, August 18 – Due to the freshman orientation, full marching band rehearsal will begin at 7:30 a.m. today and end at 8:45 a.m. The Demonettes, Debonaires, Majorettes, snares, and tenors will continue to rehearse until 10:00 a.m. Other sections that would like to rehearse without the freshman are more than welcome to use the music area or the field. I, Mr. Walczuk, will be at the HS until 10:30 a.m.
Thursday, August 19 – PICTURE DAY! All students must be dressed in their uniform before 7:30 a.m. Arrive no later than 7:15 a.m. Instrumentalists are reminded to bring their black band shoes and black dress socks. Do not wear the black athletic socks that only cover the ankle. Wear a white t-shirt and shorts so you can slip the uniform pants on easily. Remember to bring the order form on Thursday if you are ordering pictures. We will begin with a full band picture at the stadium and then continue with section and individual pictures. There will be a light breakfast in the PAC lobby following the pictures. We will then continue to rehearse until noon.
Friday, August 20 – Final day of summer band rehearsal! We will rehearse at our usual time from 8:30 a.m. until noon.
No rehearsals on Monday and Tuesday of next week. You will be too busy preparing for the first day of school. We have accomplished a great deal in just two short weeks of summer band! Congratulations! I am looking forward to our first performance on the 27th!
