The annual WHS Marching Band pot-luck dinner will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012 in the high school cafeteria. The dinner will begin promptly at 4:45 p.m. and conclude at 6:10. We always have a tremendous turnout of families who attend this event. All of the students in the marching band and their entire families are invited. Over 400 people attended this event last year.
We are asking EACH family to bring an entree that will serve 4 (for example: chili, rigatoni, meatballs, sheet pizza, bucket of chicken, sloppy Joe’s, meatloaf, ham slices, club or sub, meatless lasagna, eggplant parmesan, cheese/bean enchiladas).
In addition, each family is also asked to bring a side dish. Please follow the list below by class and last name. Examples are provided for your convenience.
SENIOR CLASS:
- A-K: Hot Starch/Grain (scalloped potatoes, mashed potatoes & gravy, macaroni and cheese, couscous, rice pilaf, quinoa)
- L-Z: Hot Vegetables/Beans (buttered carrots, green bean casserole, pork ‘n beans)
JUNIOR CLASS:
- A-K: Hot Starch/Grain (scalloped potatoes, mashed potatoes & gravy, macaroni and cheese, couscous, rice pilaf, quinoa)
- L-Z: Fresh Fruit or Bread (fruit salad, grapes, cut up melons, jello fruit mold, corn bread, biscuits, croissants, dinner rolls)
SOPHOMORE CLASS:
- A-K: Hot Vegetables/Beans (buttered carrots, green bean casserole, pork ‘n beans)
- L-Z: Greens with a small bottle of dressing (spinach salad, garden salad, caprese salad, tossed salad)
FRESHMAN CLASS:
- A-K: Cold Starch/Grain (potato salad, pasta/macaroni/rice salad)
- L-Z: Cold Vegetables/Beans (carrot/celery sticks, cucumber slices, bean salads)
All eating utensils, bottled water, coffee and soda will be provided. Senior band and auxiliary members will be recognized at the end of the dinner and dessert (cake with each senior listed) will be served.
**Please use disposable containers and utensils or make sure your items are clearly marked with your name. Non-disposable containers must be picked up immediately after the dinner. WE WILL NOT SAVE THEM!
**If you are bringing a hot disk, please bring it HOT! We do not have access to the kitchen to heat or cook any food. you may drop off your food at the tables in the hall just outside of the cafeteria where designated. We will have volunteers available to assist you.
The Senior members of the band and their parents will be recognized on the field during pregame beginning at 6:45 p.m. following our pot-luck dinner.
