Information for 10/25 to 10/29
Final week of marching band rehearsals!!!!!
Monday, October 25th – No after school rehearsal for any of the instrumentalists. (I forgot about the choir concert tonight.) Aux. members will practice until 3:30 p.m. Aux. members in the choir must attend the brief choir rehearsal in the PAC and then come back outside to practice. We must continue with the senior dance today.
Tuesday, October 26th – Full band rehearsal until 3:15 p.m. today…………yes, 3:15 p.m. We have a great deal of work to do if we want the senior show to be successful on Friday night. The aux. should be able to end by 4:00 p.m. The percussion section will also rehearse until at least 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday, October 27th – Full band rehearsal immediately after school today until 3:30 p.m. Aux. can stay later if the captains feel it is necessary. Let me know. DUE TO HALLOWEEN FUN NIGHT THIS EVENING, THERE WILL BE NO REHEARSAL AT THE STADIUM TONIGHT! Enjoy the evening off!
Thursday, October 28th – Full band rehearsal until 3:00 p.m. today. All of ‘Karn Evil 9′ must be polished before we leave today. The aux. and percussion will need to rehearse last minute details but should not stay any later than 3:45 p.m. Today is the last after school marching band rehearsal!!! Hooray!!!
Friday, October 29th – Full band rehearsal during the school day.
Important reminders:
- All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are to bring cookies for tonight’s game. Brecksville’s band has over 300 members!
- The pot-luck dinner begins at 5:00 p.m. this evening in the cafeteria. All of the information is on the ‘pink’ sheet that I passed out a week ago. Ask me if you need another copy.
- Senior parents are reminded to report to the track on the home side of the stadium before 7:10 p.m. on Friday evening. Ask your son or daughter which yard line you are near so that the pregame introductions can run smoothly. Mr. Rovniak will organize all the parents prior to the beginning of the program.

Senior Dance Instructional Video
Next Friday will be the last football game of the season, and the last marching band performance for the senior class. As is customary, the seniors have choreographed a dance for our final halftime show. Here’s an instructional video explaining this year’s senior dance, courtesy Benji Kristoff, Aroh Pandit, and Paul Poulos. This dance needs to be learned by next week so we can perform it next Friday. Have fun practicing this at home!

Information for 10/19 to 10/25
Tuesday, October 19th: Instrumentalists will be dismissed at 3:00 p.m. Aux. will continue to practice until 3:45 p.m.
Wednesday, October 20th: This evening’s rehearsal at the stadium begins at 5:45 p.m. We will also rehearse in the PAC for Thursday night’s concert.
Thursday, October 21st: All students will be dismissed at the end of the school day. Students must be dressed no later than 7:00 p.m. in preparation for tonight’s concert. (No hats and no gloves.) The program begins at 7:30 p.m. and includes the string orchestra and jazz ensemble.
Friday, October 22nd: All students will be dismissed at the end of the school day. Students must be dressed no later than 6:30 p.m. in preparation for tonight’s home game. Freshmen and juniors are to bring cookies for the after halftime snack. Please remember to clean your shoes before you arrive at the high school.
Reminder: The pot-luck dinner will be held next Friday, October 29th at 5:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. This dinner is for all marching band members and their families. Information will be sent home with the students later this week explaining details of what to bring that evening.
