’09-’10 Recordings
The quality of WHS’s instrumental music ensembles was outstanding last year, so last May, Mr. Walczuk had recordings made of the Symphonic Band, Orchestra, and Jazz I. These recordings are now available for listening and downloading on this website. Be sure to leave a comment on what you think!

WOW!!!!
I lovee listening to these recordings! Thanks for putting them on here! My favorites are As A Wind From the North, Hora, Hungarian Dance, and Four.
I downloaded them all! Well except jazz band…because I have those already…haha
oh my gosh we sound amazing!
whaaaaaaaaa I thought that was the composer’s recording for a second there… Go us! As a wind from the north rocks my socks.
Wow, the Symphonic Band sounds great! I also really dig the equalization filter that was put on the Jazz Band’s pieces – the audio is really clear and snazzy.
But geez, Hoe-Down can really cause headaches. I didn’t know how much we messed up on that song…
Here’s to another year of music!
Actually, these are the raw recordings – no equalization, filters, or editing of any kind.
You are hearing exactly what a live audience would have heard, and exactly what the OMEA heard when Mr. Walczuk sent them the recordings. The orchestra can’t have been that bad since you guys got accepted by the OMEA too.
Oh, really? I’ve heard the Jazz Band live before, but the sound wasn’t as crisp as what I heard in the recordings. Either way, they sound good.
This doesn’t have much to do with these actual recordings, but did anyone record the recital where all the solo and ensemble kids performed?
What was the date of these recordings??
They were made towards the end of last school year, in either May or June. You’d have to ask Mr. Walczuk for the exact date.
They were recorded on Thursday, May 13.
I missed the recordings that day because of my AP World test, which, according to the College Board website, was on May 13!
Just amazing.
